To My Friends

Friends make you feel less alone and more alive. They know that
sometimes you need them, not just want them. A friend can look at
you and see you're in no condition to drive home, whether you're
sleepy, drunk, or sad, and offer you a place to sleep for the
night. And make you an honored guest, rather than a crasher.

It doesn't need to be a long and involved list. Friendship is not
simple, and for that very reason, its complexity, it is
undefinable objectively. Friendship is defined subjectively, per
each relationship. And even those change over time.

Although there are many people this definition (so loosely writ)
applies to for me, I dedicate this sentiment particularly to Nick Tate.
He made sure I had a safe walk home, or a ride or a place to sleep.
And when I did the same for him, I made omelettes. He sought me
out when I was lurking somewhere feeling depressed and brought
me back; to myself, to the world, to the love felt by friends.
Love goes uncelebrated too often. My friends- you seriously rock.

And so, the sentiment is dedicated to you all. Everyone listed,
and so many more.
